This is wintertime, right? It's supposed to be cold with snow. So this is what is so funny about living in the Midwest. There are too many people freaking out about the upcoming so-called blizzard. It's just snow! Is it human nature to worry about weather? Are we "hard-wired" to help prepare for the worst? I enjoy the wintertime. But not the annual wintertime weather conversation. So if you see me, let's not talk about the "blizzard".
Today it was soprano sax day. I've always had a love/hate relationship with this instrument. Today it was all love. I worked on reeds today. I play Vandoren ZZ 2 1/2 with a stock F Selmer mouthpiece. It is a fairly open mouthpiece, so that's why I use softer reeds. Normally I play on 3 strength reeds (tenor, alto). But 2 1/2 seems to play better with this set-up. I guess if I practiced it everyday I might move to something harder.
I hit the flute again and tenor. Worked on High-Fly by Randy Weston. Fun tune. And Here's That Rainy Day by Jimmy Van Heusen. Don't ask why in the middle of the winter I'm practicing this song.
Today I put into motion the working of a CD release party for my Lightwave CD. It is looking like it will be at the end of March. When I know the exact information I will post it here.
Have a great night.
