I had a couple of nice gigs last week and would like to thanks a couple of people. Last Thursday I played a solo sax gig in Louisville, KY at the downtown Mariott for the United States Equestrian Federation. Thanks Ilse Dehner for the calling me to play. It's always nice to visit one of my favorite cities, if only for a few hours. Secondly, thanks Jim Connerley for the great gig at the Blue Wisp Jazz Club last Friday. It was a slammin' night playing with the Vintage Keys Project.
Nothing like playing music in a packed club. Great vibe. Also, it was even cooler having Dan Faehnle sitting in with us.
Today is was back to the teaching schedule. What ever happened to the days when kids practice? I had more kids tell me today how many hours they played video games than I would like to hear. Ugggg.
I have re-discovered the Miles Davis album/cd 'Round Midnight today
http://www.amazon.com/Round-About-Midnight-Miles-Davis/dp/B0009MAP4.... One of my favorites. The re-release has several live versions of that quintet that must be heard. I love the crowd's reaction when Miles plays It Never Entered My Mind. This has to be checked out!
Enjoy your Tuesday.
